offers scholarships to study in Israel The
American Jewish League for Israel (AJLI) offers scholarships for a full
year (no part-time or summer programs) of undergraduate or graduate study
at one of nine universities in Israel; Bar Ilan, Ben Gurion, Haifa, Hebrew,
Interdisciplinary Center-Recanati School, Pardes, Tel Aviv, Technion and
Weizmann. For students who plan to attend Weizmann, the scholarship also

The Israel Government Fellows Program of the Menachem Begin Heritage Center
is in the middle of its inaugural session and is enjoying great success.
A MASA initiative endorsed by Israel's Prime Minister, the Israel Government
Fellows Program is currently the only gateway for non-Israelis to work within
the Israeli government apparatus. The program consists of a three-week
orientation seminar, followed by a five-month fellowship experience.
Each Fellow works closely with a government official in a Ministry or other
government branch, depending upon the Fellow's particular interests. For

Shorashim:
Roots
Shorashim: Roots is a 5 month residential apprenticeship program
in farm-based sustainable living & learning, specifically designed to
the Israeli landscape and international Jewish community, open to young
adults ages 20-30. The apprenticeship is offered twice a year, fall/winter
(Sept-Jan) and spring/summer (Feb-June), with 12 spaces open to each season.
Apprentices earn an internationally recognized Permaculture Design Certificate

Academic Fellowship
The PLP Academic Fellowship is a highly selective program offering full
tuition plus additional benefits to graduate students pursuing an executive
career in the American Jewish non-profit community. Applicants must
possess demonstrated leadership skills, creativity in developing and implementing
solutions, strong character and a deep passion for building Jewish community,
and they must aim to set new standards of excellence for Jewish non-profits
– individually and as part of an organization or team. Beyond full
tuition and a professional growth stipend, all fellows receive integrative
professional learning, coaching, mentoring and proactive job placement.
Fellows are required to serve in highly substantial leadership roles in
U.S.-based Jewish non-profit organizations for a minimum of 3 years following

The Schusterman Fellowship for Jewish Community
INSIGHT was developed to encourage recent college graduates to explore the
world of Jewish non-profit work in the hopes that we will identify and retain
talented, young leaders who will help the Jewish non-profit sector grow
and thrive. We are now seeking applications from college seniors and recent
graduates who are motivated, curious and inspired to explore the Jewish
communal world through working at some of the most exciting organizations
in the community. During the two-year program, fellows will be placed
in three consecutive six-month placements at Jewish organizations based
in New York City and Washington, DC. Additionally, there will be several
professional development retreats, an INSIGHT Israel trip, a week-long service
project, and a national gathering with fellows and host organizations at
the conclusion of the two years. Throughout the fellowship, monthly
seminars will take place to discuss the themes and challenges that arise
on the job, enhance skills training, and develop networking plans. The ideal
candidate is ambitious, self-aware, bright, and curious to explore the Jewish
